Groove 3 is based on the style of traditional Jazz/Swing, and the chord progression is a standard 12 bar blues/swing.
I tried to model the soloing in the tradition of great jazz guitarist’s such as Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, George Benson, and Pat Metheny to name a few.
I would also suggest to listen to not only guitar players but also horn players such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Michael Brecker to name a few.
These giants paved the way for jazz soloing.
Song 1 concentrates on playing just the rhythm guitar part, as this is an extremely important part of playing jazz (or any musical style for that matter).
This song also outlines the chord progression of the song, you should be aware of this when you are soloing. This is a swing feel so concentrate on the groove, make it swing!
