    Description

Mozart wrote this piece on 10 sheets (19 pages) of music papers on the 5th of August in 1786 and dedicated this piece to his student Franziska Jacquin (1769-1850). This clarinet-viola-piano trio was first performed in Jacquin's house with Anton Stadler played the clarinet, Mozart the viola and Jacquin the piano. Back in Mozart's era, clarinet was a relatively new instrument and this trio was the first trio piece with such combination of instruments. This piece helped to increase the popularity of the instrument clarinet. The last movement of this piece is written in cut common time and in total of 222 bars. The musical format of this movement is a 7-part rondo.
