Description

Groove 4 concentrates on one of my favorite style’s to play over, “Funk”.
In this series the chord progression is quite simple, E dominant-A dom-B dom, basically a blues 1-4-5.
The thing that makes it cool is the rhythm, a lot of syncopation and accented upbeats.
As in Groove 3, song 1 we are playing just the rhythm guitar part .
Rhythm playing is just as important as soloing and this songs focuses on just that, rhythm and groove !
Try to be aware of the space in between phrases, and also pay attention to the muted ghost notes.
These are created by muting all 6 strings with the left hand while strumming with the right hand to create a percussive affect.
In bars 19-20 you need to bring your left hand thumb over the neck to play the bass note on the low-E string in order to get all the notes on the bottom 4 strings
